This study describes the microstructure phase and hardness value produced in metal casting with variations mold temperature addition of Ti-B elements. gravity casting, a technique that relies solely on gravity, is used for metals. objective this to determine mechanical properties characterization specimens using die molds by varying between 250°C, 350°C, 450°C 0.05% alloying In addition, research can right method. The material recycle piston Al-Si (series 4xxx). results testing at 250°C have 123.9 HVN. Al-Si-TiB alloy has dense grain boundaries. because TiB element functions as refiner reduces porosity microstructure. So, smaller porosity, stronger specimen or material. low temperatures, process will freeze faster, resulting higher hardness. increasing tendency change eutectic structure silicon primary silicon.
